È concepita come una serie antologica, che ad ogni stagione rinnova interpreti e storia.[1] La prima stagione, composta da otto episodi diretti da Cary Joji Fukunaga, ha per protagonisti i detective Rust Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) e Marty Hart (Woody Harrelson).[2]

Trama

Le vite dei detective Rust Cohle e Marty Hart si intrecciano inesorabilmente nella lunga caccia a un serial killer in Louisiana, durata diciassette anni. Attraverso archi temporali diversi, vengono raccontate le vite e le indagini dei due detective, dal 1995 al 2012, anno in cui il caso viene riaperto.
